Lanoma "Nomie" (Ader) Beatty

February 14, 1951 ~ November 25, 2021 (age 70)

Tribute

Lanoma “Nomie” Beatty gained her wings on November 25, 2021 at the age of 70- although, you could argue that Nomie, an amazing, one of a kind woman who radiated kindness and love, had wings from the day she was born.

A Celebration of Nomie's life will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 29, 2021 in the Chapel of Hillside Christian Church West Campus. 6100 Soncy. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

She was born on Valentine’s Day 1951, which couldn’t have been more perfect because she loved all and was loved by all. As she would say “To Nomie is to love me." She was born in Albuquerque, NM to Edward and Shirely Ader. She was the middle of seven kids who have all remained close and have been a huge joy in Nomie’s life. She met the love of her life, Fred Beatty, at a party at her brother-in-law's house. They were married January 25, 1975 and were very happily married for 44 years when Fred passed away in 2019.

Fred and Nomie moved to Amarillo in 1983 where they raised 2 incredible girls: Emily born in 1980 and Lisa born in 1982. Their family became heavily involved in their community and with Suburban Bible Church where they made lifelong friends.

Nomie has always been incredibly creative and was an immensely talented artist. She designed backdrops for multiple plays her girls were in and also designed t-shirts for schools her girls attended. She joined Amarillo Junior League in 1993 where she had a blast helping set up Fun Fest and Christmas Roundup along with the many other projects they would do. When she wasn’t busy with Junior League, she stayed busy volunteering for numerous activities for the schools and church as well as taking her girls to innumerable practices and games.

If you were to ask anyone to say one thing about Nomie, chances are that they would say that she made EVERYTHING special. She always said that the love is in the details. She had the most fun ideas- whether it was setting up a treasure hunt race for her friends and family at Lake Powell, or hiding miniature eggs for her entire family to find on Easter, or taking the time to create elaborate birthday cards that she would make every year. She knew how to make you feel special and how to make great things even greater.

She loved her family and friends and loved to travel with them as often as she could. She was always up for a road trip, especially to go see plays. She loved going to the theatre, and she passed that love along to her kids and grandkids.

She had a huge heart- especially for her grandkids. They loved their Mamuu. She also had a huge love for the Lord, and she wanted to share God’s love with everyone. She worked with Stephen’s Ministry and also did bible studies at the women’s prison for Prison Ministry all with Hillside Christian Church. We can’t imagine all the lives she touched.

Lanoma was preceded in death by her wonderful parents and her loving husband.

She is survived by her girls, Emily Moore, her husband Brandon and their daughter Braily, and Lisa Hagar, her husband Dallas and their kids Dayton, Brynna and Dax. As well as her 6 siblings and their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to BSA Hospice, or Metavivor.org to help with research of Metastatic Breast Cancer.
