George Earl Miller of Amarillo passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 80. George was born on November 1, 1942, in Lorain, Ohio, to George L Miller and Helen McIntire.  He graduated from Avon High School in Ohio in 1960 and served his country when he entered the US Army National Guard after graduation. Following his time in the service, he attended college.

He was a long-time employee of Jack B. Kelley. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, and he loved to hunt throughout the years alongside his special Brittany Spaniels. George spent time gardening, always loving to see his flowers and vegetables grow. He would spend some of his leisure time watching Western movies.

He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, serving as an usher at the 5:00 pm Saturday Mass. As a member of the ACTS retreat community, he developed and maintained relationships with other men who participated in the same retreat. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed being on the links with his golfing buddies. He also played annually in the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church golf tournament.  He was celebrated and awarded for making a “Hole in One” at Palo Duro Creek on February 29, 1992.

George is preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Miller. He was the father to three children, grandfather to five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He will be remembered for always making videos at family gatherings.

He is survived by his daughters: Angela Miller, Julie McMillon, and her husband, Carl. By his son David Miller and his wife, Summer, all of Amarillo, Texas. One brother, Jerry Miller, and his wife, Ruth, of Lancaster, Ohio. He will be remembered by his grandchildren: Spencer Smith and his wife, Rachel; Greyson Smith; Bennie Miller; Max Miller; and Izabella Miller and by his great-granddaughter, Eve Smith. He is also survived by his cousins, nephews, and their families.
